Tis just a flesh wound {Cyrus}

     

He was tired. He had to check a ton of eggs and the parents weren't very happy about it. Eh, better than teaching a bunch of freshmen. Mirun preferred master students. Not even the honor students he payed much attention to, but he was picky. Only the best managed to get to masters and those were the students that knew what they were doing, usually. Mirun's job was just to make sure they completed their training and went out hunting and stuff, maybe even help him breed more dragons, given that was another job in itself. He supposed it was just as hard as being another master. Taming the most wild dragons that came to the school, or capturing the most violent dragons, but breeding was tough work! Especially when you dealt with violent parents when you just needed to check their eggs. He gotten a few wounds for it and decided to rest in the teacher's lounge. Ah, nothing like a spike from a Nadder almost going through your stomach, right? Thankfully Mozart was there, like always, and taught the Nadder a lesson while Sebby was fast enough to push Mirun back far enough so it didn't drive further into his guts. How Mirun was still alive was a mystery, even to him.

From his past years of teaching, he kept first aid kits hidden everywhere. Literally, everywhere. He even had one in the teacher's lounge, which he used to patch himself up. Good thing he payed attention when he was a student in survival class and learned which herbs did what. Then again, being a breeder meant medical knowledge not only for the dragon, but also yourself. He wasn't a doctor, of course, but he knew how to patch people and dragons up. After he was bandaged, he flopped down on the couch, Lucy laying on his chest, keeping away from his usual spot on Mirun's stomach, in fear of opening the wound again. Sebby was in there too, the Speed Stinger having wedged himself between the couch and the coffee table. Mirun was hurt and Sebby was sad about it. His job was to protect everyone, he was the pack leader! If he couldn't protect one member of his pack that was a squishy human, then what good was he? He told Venus to watch everyone else, and his mate listened and spread the pack out to ensure no one would get hurt that day. Sebby had to watch Mirun in case he needed a raw fish to eat or something like that. Maybe some dragon nip. The lead Stinger gave a whine, the colorful fan-like crest that marked him as pack leader sinking slightly, closer to his skull.

A soft pet from Mirun rose the crest back up. So Mirun wasn't mad at Sebastian! The Stinger gave a welcoming clicking of his tongue and nuzzled back, lowering his head again so Mirun could rest before he went back to work. His stomach hurt like hell, but the herbs reduced the pain some. As long as he laid there for a bit and didn't do anything to open the wound he would be alright. Probably. It wasn't the first wound he ever had and it wasn't going to be the last. It was part of the job. He should probably go home and rest there, but this place was much closer. And what if he was needed for something? Mirun may not be the best teacher out there, he was pretty lazy, but he wanted to be around in case he was needed by anyone. Even if he complains about it later. He tried to settle down, shutting his eyes. Sleep wasn't an option, but he could reduce moving some.
