Character FAQ's
I. How do I become a teacher?
A teacher position can be obtained once a member has one active student that has passed Basics into Intermediate or above courses.
Teachers of higher ranks are harder to obtain and it is suggested that you only have a teacher of a rank your student is at, so you know how the classes work.
Teacher positions will also be given out in events when they are needed. This is a rare occurrence, but it does happen.
Master level students can also teach beginner courses in place of a teacher.
Ii. How do I get further in classes?
Classes can be passed in one of two ways.
1. The student completes all classes in the rank they are in then take a final test to proceed to the next level.
2. The students can take three classes then take the test early to proceed to the next level.
All first characters that are students must start out Beginners. Second characters that are students can begin in Intermediate classes.
Iii. How do I take a class?
Classes can be taken in one of two ways.
1. You can take it alone with an actual character teacher or an NPC teacher, depending on the activity and availability of the teachers.
2. You can take it in a group of up to three other students (four total including you) with the NPC teacher or a character teacher depending on the activity and availability of the teachers.
Test are the same, except you take them alone with a staff member acting as a teacher or with a member's teacher.
Iv. How do I get into a House?
Students will be sorted into houses after acceptance and after they receive their free Terrible Terror from the school. This house is decided on your character's personality traits and even on what House we need filled.
You can not choose your House.
v. what all can my character be?
Your character can be a civilian, teacher, keeper, trainer, tamer, or breeder.
Civilian: Do things in the town like sell items.
Teacher: Teaches students at the school
Keepers: Care for a certain type of dragon in the school.
Trainer: Specialize in learning how to battle, fly, and capture other dragons.
Tamers: Specialize in taming dragons.
Breeders: Specialize in caring and breeding dragons.
vi. what is a keeper and how do they work?
Keepers are those that are dedicated to providing personal care and companionship to dragons of a certain species, even if that dragon is not technically one of theirs.
Keepers of common/uncommon dragons and Keepers of rare/very rare dragons work differently.
For common and uncommon dragons, the school has a supply they keep on backup, and thus the Keeper is responsible for caring for them until they find a student to work with and be their true owner- the Hiccup to their Toothless. Therefore, that Keeper will likely be working with many different individuals of the same species.
These Keepers are often Teachers or House Heads, as they work more closely with students and are more heavily involved in the process of finding students a starter.
Rare and very rare dragons, on the other hand, do not exist within the school unless they are brought there by a team of Master students. These dragons are incredibly needy in terms of care and companionship, and must be taken out flying very often. Merely owning a dragon such as this is an occupation in and of itself, which is where Keepers come in.
Owning a Night Fury is a great honor but is also a great responsibility, which is why a Master must give up the wild, spur-of-the-moment adventures in favor of the more stable Keeper position.
vIi. How can I get a Keeper?
To get a Keeper, you need to know a few things:
1.) Getting Keepers for rare and very rare dragons is much more difficult than getting a Nightmare to take a bath.
2.) You can not just make a Keeper character.
Keepers watch over NPC dragons as well as their own private ones. It is a big job, so there is how they are given out:
1.) Have a Master Trainer, Tamer, or Breeder capture a dragon in the wild and own it. This can only happen on hunts. If you do not already own that dragon, then you can become that specie's Keeper. This means you give up your ability to go on hunts with that character.
This mostly applies to Rare and Very Rare dragon species.
2.) With staff permission, Teachers can become the Keeper of a common species upon creation.
3.) Earn the place in an event.
viII. How can my civilian rise in skill level?
The more items a civilian makes (if they make items) or the more of their job they do, the more skill level they will gain and the bigger bonus they can get on their work. This is why it is important to keep track of all that you have made with your civilians to make sure they rank up properly.
Dragon FAQ's
I. How do I get a dragon besides a Terror?
Everyone starts with one Terror because they can be used to send letters to others and they are just plain adorable.
You can obtain your official starter dragon when you pass all the Beginner classes. Once you pass the test to advance to Intermediate, then you will have a thread with a staff member in the Arena where you meet three choices of your starter dragon. You can rp with them, meeting them, learn their temperaments, then you can choose.
After that, you will need to earn other dragons by buying them, winning them in competitions, trading them, or by capturing them on a hunting trip.
Civilians!!
You can start out with two basic starter dragons (see Dragon List) or a pack of Terrors which will take up one of the starter posts for you.
You can still have four Terrors with the two basic starters, however.
Teachers!!
You can start out with one basic starter (the dragon you got when you were a student), an uncommon, then another common or a hoard of Terrors.
You can still have four Terrors with the two commons and one uncommon.
II. How do I get a Night Fury?
By earning one in an event or being lucky enough to be part of a hunting group to capture one.
Iii. How many dragons can I own?
Each member has three dragon slots.
Members can have their starter, one uncommon, and one rare.
They can have their stater, five or more Terrors, and one uncommon/rare.
You can have three commons, but you can not have three rare or three uncommon. Unless you buy a very special item.
Each character can have four Terrors without them taking up a slot.
In all, with the starter/uncommon/rare slot, members can have seven dragons, counting the four free Terrors.
iv. How can I get a pack?
Packs consist of dragons that will take up one rare slot or sometimes one uncommon if you have more than one you use.
You can have a pack of anything.
For common dragons, you can have your uncommon slot taken up by four of the dragons, and the rare slot will be taken up for five or above. This means you can have more than five Nadders if you wanted to.
For uncommon, rare, and very rare dragons, you can have a pack of four or more. But they will take up your rare slot.
You can only obtain more of the same dragon for your pack by catching them, buying them, trading them, or doing whatever else will require work to grow your pack.
Pack limits are fifteen for common and uncommon, ten for rare, and five for super rare.
